The Pets Perspective is hosting a very important guest speaker, Dr. Ronald Schultz, on April 20, 2013 from 8:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m…

This seminar/lecture will focus on “What every pet owner needs to know about vaccines and vaccination programs.”  There will also be a good deal of discussion on the benefits of Titer Testing when considering re-vaccination.

  • Hear from an unbiased scientist with over 40 years of experience with vaccines what he thinks about new vaccines… avoiding vaccine related adverse side affects… and how to make vaccinating safer.
  • Learn which shots your pets really need… which may be unnecessary and should be avoided… the benefits of titer testing and why it may be a safer choice than giving boosters.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:  Pet owners, veterinarians, trainers, breeders, pet care professionals, animal rescue/advocacy groups…

Dr. Ronald Schultz

ABOUT…Dr. Ronald Schultz is a Professor and Chair of the Pathobiological Sciences Department at University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine and Principal Investigator, along with Dr. Jean Dodds, for the Rabies Challenge Fund.*  Dr. Schultz is an internationally recognized expert in the field of canine (and feline) vaccines and regularly participates in international meetings and forums in this field.  He was the US Representative of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association Vaccination Guidelines Group and Board Member of the 2003 and 2006 American Animal Hospital Association Canine Vaccine Task Forces and the AAFP Feline Vaccine Task Force.  Check out these links for more information on Dr. Ronald Schultz:  http://www.maddiesfund.org/Maddies_Institute/Webcasts/Cracking_the_Infection_Control_Code.html. and http://www.news.wisc.edu/8413.

The Rabies Challenge Fund

*The Rabies Challenge Fund is an ongoing five and seven year challenge study to show that immunity from a rabies vaccine should last a minimum of seven years.  That would essentially mean many less vaccines for your dog over his lifetime and less chance of any vaccine side effects.  Check out this link for more information on the RCF:  http://www.rabieschallengefund.org/.   Note:  The results of the rabies five year challenge study will be available at the time of our seminar in April… This will undoubtedly have a positive impact on all of our pets in the very near future.

–A portion of the proceeds of this event and all of the money raised from the Fund Raising Raffle will be going toward the Rabies Challenge Fund which is still in need of funding for year six and seven of the rabies challenge project and a local WNY animal rescue organization (TBD).

I am a registered nurse and owner of a Luxury Dog Hotel and Grooming Spa. I was so impressed with Dr. Shultz seminar and could have listened to him for hours. He is so knowledgeable and provided so much pertinent and up to date information. I have studied the vaccination topic for years after losing a two pound yorkie to a rabies vaccine. Dr Shultz presented the information in such a consise easy to understand manner. I really enjoyed my day, lunch and hanging out with other dog people! Thank You

Just received confirmation of my registration for this seminar!! :-) I have read Dr. Schultz’s work and followed his vaccination recommendations with my beloved fur family members for years. I cannot believe how fortunate we are to have Dr. Schultz – a leading immunologist in our country – accessible to us for a full day for only $75. Wow.

Thank you to everyone who worked to bring this opportunity to us. And THANK YOU Dr. Schultz for caring so much about animals!

Yes Sandy… Get your registration in early though as we’ve had a great response thus far and have limited capacity. Incredibly, we have people coming in from as far away as NC, OH, PA, MA, and Canada! Well worth the drive or flight!

When I lived in Wisconsin, I personally met and talked with Dr. Schultz several times. He titered both of my Bernese Mt. Dogs, ‘Boulder ‘n Stone’, as well as my English Shepherd, Roxee Mae. Not only is Dr. Schultz extremely dedicated to and passionate about these vaccination issues … 40 YEARS OF STUDIES … he is also very approachable (when I called his office, he personally answered the phone and graciously answered my questions & concerns).

This is quite an opportunity for all of us here in WNY. You will be very pleased you participated in this seminar.
